Can You Make YouTube Videos Inside ChatGPT or Claude? Yes, Here Is How
By Alex Stevens

Ask most AI assistants how to make YouTube videos from ChatGPT or Claude and you will get a plan for building your own system: a script from the chatbot, a voice from one service, footage from another, an automation tool to glue it together and the YouTube API to upload it. That works, but it takes days to set up and breaks whenever one piece changes.
There is a shorter route. Digital Maker AI already works as a connector for both Claude and ChatGPT, so you can ask for a finished faceless video in a normal conversation and it gets made on your account, with the script, scenes, voiceover and captions done for you.
What the connector actually does
Once your account is connected, the assistant can use Digital Maker AI's tools on your behalf. In plain terms, you can ask it to:
- Make a long-form faceless YouTube video from a topic or your own script
- Make a vertical Short, a whiteboard video or a two-host animated podcast
- Add background music, add an AI presenter, or draw a new presenter from a description
- Animate chosen scenes of a finished video into real moving clips
- Post a finished video to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram
- Create a recurring character, generate a thumbnail, research faceless channels in your niche, check your minutes and save files to Google Drive
The video itself is made by Digital Maker AI, not by the chatbot, so you get the same finished MP4 you would get from the website, saved to your library.
How to set it up
Claude: sign in to Digital Maker AI, open Account Settings and go to the Claude tab. It takes about a minute to add the connector, and the full guide is at digitalmaker.ai/claude.
ChatGPT: open Account Settings and the ChatGPT tab. You need a paid ChatGPT plan with developer mode, and the step-by-step guide is at digitalmaker.ai/chatgpt.
You never paste an API key into a chat. The connector address is digitalmaker.ai/mcp, and the guides show exactly where it goes.
What a request looks like
You talk to it the way you would talk to a video editor:
- "Make a 10 minute video about how the Romans built their roads, History style, a calm British male voice."
- "Turn that into a 60 second Short as well."
- "Animate the first three scenes and add some quiet background music."
- "Post the long video to YouTube tomorrow at 6pm with this title."
Before it starts a video, Claude tells you how many minutes it will use, and it never starts one unless you ask for it directly. You can check progress by asking, and the link to the finished video comes back in the chat.
Which plan you need
On Pro, the connector can make images and characters and research channels. Making videos, Shorts, podcasts and presenter videos, and posting to social media, needs Premium or Ultimate. The same video length limits apply as on the website: up to 30 minutes per video on Premium and up to an hour on Ultimate. See the pricing page for the current plans.
When building your own pipeline still makes sense
If you want full control over every step, a custom setup with an automation tool and the YouTube API is still an option. It suits developers who enjoy maintaining it. For most creators who just want a finished video from a conversation, a ready-made connector saves the setup and the upkeep.
Frequently asked questions
Does ChatGPT or Claude make the video itself?
No. The assistant writes the request and passes it to Digital Maker AI, which makes the video on your account. The chatbot is the remote control.
Can it post to YouTube for me?
Yes, on Premium and Ultimate, once your YouTube, TikTok or Instagram account is connected in Account Settings. Read more on making and posting videos in one place.
Can I make videos with an AI presenter this way?
Yes. You can ask for one of your saved presenters, or ask it to draw a new one. See AI presenter videos.
